Fantastic Value Chrome Shelving

Rising Gas & Electricity prices!

Industrial racking in warehouses often takes the form of bulk storage racks. These are basically big shelves. Document storage racks fall into the same category. If you see a wire deck in a metal framework, then you're looking at a type of industrial racking called a pallet rack. Here, the wire helps air to circulate. This way items put in storage can get dry if they got wet before being stored. Reels of cable are stored on cable reel racking. This type of industrial racking really does show you how useful this type of product can be. It enables the reel to spin so that you can easily pull lengths of cable and cut them off. When it comes to oil drums and other similar containers, drum pallet racking is what you need. Rather like a very big rack for bottles of wine, these racks support each oil drum on a couple of parallel rods which are positioned approximately seven inches away from eachother. As its name suggests, cantilevered industrial racking has arms that tilt in an upward direction. This variety of racking is ideal for storing and displaying dowels, planks, rods, pipes and bars. Long and thin items like these may also be stored on stacking racks. These are structures that are shaped like the letter U. They have the advantage of being able to be linked to each other.

As you can imagine, it is important that items like gas cylinders aren't just left lying around for people to fall over or bang into. So special-purpose industrial racking is used to hold the cylinders steady, stop them falling over and generally keep them out of harm's way. For a similar reason, electronic equipment is often held in industrial racking to keep it safe.

In the computer industry, racks are used to hold servers and disc drives. Using a special rack makes fitting quicker and helps to keep cables tucked away so people won't trip over them. Racks that are modular like this enable you, at a future date, to add new equipment to what you have already. Also, their shelves, which have ventilation slots, increase the life of the heat-sensitive equipment inside by letting air circulate freely.

Working out the height that you need for this type of industrial racking is quite straightforward. You add the height of each piece of equipment, and then include another thirty percent to make proper provision for future additions to the equipment and to allow enough cool air to circulate.

There are certain types of industrial racking that come with covers and doors which can be locked. These are used when you need a controlled environment for sensitive equipment. These also provide protection for their contents from accidental damage by strong sunlight, people, animals and loose objects. These types of industrial racking also help prevent the risk of the items they contain being taken away or interfered with. Examples of items in this category include corrosive substances and electrical devices.
