Every claims management service must be authorised by the Government, unless they are granted an exemption (like any reputable company within the claims industry 1stClaims have this authorisation. However, some unscrupulous businesses are apparently using their authorised status as a marketing tool.
Anyone who is approached by someone soliciting business that implies that they are approved by the Government or is connected with a government agency or regulator should be extremely wary.
The guidelines for claims companies is clear; in our advertising and marketing we can state that we are “regulated by the Ministry Of Justice in respect of regulated claims management activities” – a statement that must be stated in its entirety and not edited or changed in any way.
It's an important distinction to make:- obviously it’s misleading for claimants to think that one company is directly approved by the Government while another is only regulated. Any company found misrepresenting themselves in this way could lose their authorised status.
At 1stClaims, rather than try and aggressively target claimants, we see our role as being here to help accident victims only when they choose to come to us. We’re here to help – not to make a stressful situation even worse.
We deal in a range of claims, including whiplash claims and compensation.
