Take a look at some of our stunning Fathers Day Gift ideas including our exclusive Personalised Fathers Day Gifts....

Rising Gas & Electricity prices!

It doesn't seem all that long ago when a handkerchief with the recipient's initials embroidered on the corner was considered a perfectly respectable present. And after the nose-blowing craze inevitably passed, we entered the era of the monogrammed bath robe. These largely fell into disuse in 1993 with the invention of the shower; and anyway, they just used to get soggy and leaden the moment you settled into the bath wearing one. Their day would also have passed but for the hotel industry, which keeps the dream alive to this day. Quite why they feel the need to threaten potential robe thieves with the full force of the law is one of life's mysteries.

Anyway, this is all in the past. Personalisation has entered the digital era. And the range of Father's Day gifts that can carry the stamp of personalisation is mind-boggling. Whether the present is for the home, the office, the golf course or the shed - or even if it's a high-speed drive round a racing circuit - why should you get this year's present off the shelf when it can be custom built and unique?

Take the humble calendar, for example. Once upon a time there would be a theme - usually cars, trains, golf, swimsuits or football - and each month would reveal a new image that would push the boundaries of the art forward as much as thirty-one days. Now, calendars can be made where the recipient's name is professionally added to a scene in such a seamless way that it looks like part of the original photograph. Suddenly dads have football stands and golf holes named after them, they appear in team line-ups and have all manner of fantasy scenarios created in their honour.

Another popular way to give your dad his dream Father's Day present is to treat him to a fabulous experience that will have him grinning with anticipation from Father's Day to the day he chooses to use it. Whatever his passion, there will probably be a gift experience based around it. The washing up experience is still under development, but in the meantime he will have to make do with circuit racing, off-roading, wine tasting and taking a flying lesson.

Booze is an old favourite in Father's Day gifts. And when it's personalised, it tastes that little bit better. Personalised champagne is available with a custom made label featuring Dad's name, for example. But there is also whiskey, cognac and Bordeaux boxed gift sets which include a bottle of the good stuff along with a copy of the Times from a special day in his life. What a way to spend a lazy afternoon!

Other gifts that come in a box but represent much bigger things can also make great gifts. Consider Laird and Lady Gift boxes, for example. For a small fee he can become a real-life Scottish laird rather than a boring old mister. He'll soon be filling in tax returns and other forms with added gusto. Or how about shares in something glamorous, like a football club, a race course or even Playboy? Yes sir, he could become a genuine shareholder in Hugh Hefner's empire this Father's Day. Maybe he should have nicked that bathrobe after all
