The rise in demand for wide plank flooring has lead to the wider engineered wood flooring being produced. This article discusses this flooring in technical detail, their best suited environments and applications.

Rising Gas & Electricity prices!
The rise in demand for wide plank flooring has lead to the wider engineered wood flooring being produced.

Currently we have two new engineered oak boards which are wider than the standard oak plank flooring.

The first one is 235mm wide with a 4mm top layer of real oak. The base is made of high quality cross birch ply, which gives a total board thickness of 18mm.

These boards are also suitable for laying directly onto joists as structural boards due to the thickness. They are also suitable for use with under floor heating, in conservatories and in below ground level rooms such as cellars.

They are perfect for large areas where a wide plank will accentuate the room to give the appearance of space. It can also be used in a smaller room to give the appearance of a larger room.

The floor is available in three different finishes – unfinished, brushed and oiled in a choice of 4 colours – natural, brown, white and grey. It is also available in a smoked and oiled board to give an authentic look and deeper colour.

The second floor available is an extra wide plank 260mm flooring for the extra wow factor. This board comes with a 6mm top layer and 15mm high quality cross birch ply backing giving a total board thickness or 21mm.

This board is also suitable for laying as a structural board on joists or battens. Also suitable for use with under floor heating, conservatories and below ground level rooms such as cellars. The finishes available are also the same as the 235mm board – unfinished, brushed and oiled in a choice of colours or smoked and oiled.

Both boards are made from European Rustic Oak which has a fantastic honey colour and is full of character. The boards are bevelled along the lengths which accentuates the widths of the boards.

These boards are perfect for all rooms and are better than solid wood flooring as they will not cup or warp. Perfect for every room.
