After Myspace's recent announcements regarding its new advertising offers. Facebook has announced their new strategy on Tuesday, 6. November, they aim to have businesses build their own costumized pages. This new project has been creatively named "Facebook ads".

In an era where word of mouth and personalised messages are at the core of any successful communications/ advertising campaign, Facebooks new actions will be highly welcomed by advertisers and businesses in general, with 10.000 pages having already been created and launched the same evening as these announcements.

Facebook users will be able to become fans of those pages and any action they take on such would be automatically communicated to that users friends, who would receive a company logo. In other words, if  your favourite chocolate brand happens to have a page on Facebook,  you would have the chance to share your passion with other users on your friend's list.

Further actions would involve businesses being able to track their social ads, as well as users shopping sites being promoted to those in their friend's list.

As per Mr Zuckerberg, ( facebook's founder ), "nothing influences people more than a recommendation from a trusted friend (..) a trusted referral is the Holy Grail of advertising.  For the last 100 years media has been pushed out to people, but now marketers are going to be a part of the conversation.”
