Around 700 former servicemen have joined the action, including those who served on the Royal Navy warship, HMS Diana, which was involved in two of the tests. The MoD denies that the tests are responsible for the lifelong illnesses that many of those involved are now suffering from and it is possible that the claims may never come to court - under current law, any claim for compensation must be brought within three years of the injury. The deadline to join the mass action is March 3rd 2008.
